How do developmentally appropriate practices foster healthy development for four year olds is the topic I chose for my simulation. I chose this topic to help inform early childhood professionals on the importance of developmentally appropriate practices and to help parents understand developmentally appropriate practices. Completing the simulation process was some what challenging. Finding relevant resources was a challenging task however I was able to find some good resources. As I searched through research data bases I reflected on this weeks research chart. I kept reminding myself to find current relevant information to help me. My advice to you all is to use the research data bases in the Walden University Library. Also you can use google scholar search engine to find relevant resources. Please feel free to share comments with advice and resources that you find helpful. Thank you.
This is a great topic. I wish I would have thought of this! I look forward to learning more about your topic.
ReplyDeleteTiffany, congratulations on finalizing your research simulation sub-area. DAP is always a topic of conversation at any gathering of early childhood professionals. Thank you for the hint to search all of the Walden Library databases. My suggestion to colleagues is about managing time—I always find this to be the greatest challenge, juggling career, family, service work and now our Masters program. I find it helpful to segment the tasks and plug away at them as early in the week as possible, so as to work around professional and family commitments that are not flexible. I wish you a successful experience of learning with your research simulation! -Susan

ReplyDeleteTiffany,
ReplyDeleteI am not very familiar with Conscious Discipline; however, from what you've shared with us thus far I want to research this topic. Also, i would love to see what the results will be from doing a study on the preschools in your area in comparison to those who don't use this type of discipline. "Thank you for sharing.
